Proving once again that they are masters of interactive marketing, the Lincoln Motor Company wants you to take an exciting ride in the 2015 Lincoln MKC.
You’re sitting in a café drinking coffee with Sam Page, who you no doubt recognize from his roles in Mad Men and House of Cards. He’s talking about a possible road trip this weekend, asking you if you’re interested. You look down at the table as the waitress brings the bill. You put your card down and it even has your name on it. Then, as you’re leaving, Sam’s wallet is stolen. Luckily, his MKC is parked just across the street, and it’s the perfect vehicle to give chase in. This is the premise of Lincoln’s Dream Ride in the MKC.
It’s not just a video. Using your mouse cursor, you can actually direct your own vision to look around, and there is a lot to see, especially once you get into the passenger seat of Lincoln’s new luxury crossover. While you’re experiencing the ride, clickable icons will pop up explaining the incredible features of the car, such as the quality materials used in the interior, the remarkable power and efficiency of the 2.3L EcoBoost powertrain, and the surreal suspension system that is Lincoln Drive Control.
At one point, Sam says “You can change it if you want,” referring to the radio station. Click on the radio and the music changes. It’s up to you to imagine that you’re hearing it over the concert hall-quality THX surround sound system.
